The Texans offensively are a traditional spread attack. They lead the district in pass offense with an average of 255 yards a game. Quarterback Jesse Drummer has accumulated all those passing yards by completing 88 of 137 attempts with 13 touchdowns. His two favorite targets are Emmanuel Porter (North Texas commit) and Syrus Moore, both have combined for 726 yards and 12 of the 13 touchdowns. Running back Quentin Thorpe is the fourth leading rusher in the district, and continues to thrive on the ground despite being in a pass heavy offense.
Defensively, the Texans are a 4-2-5 scheme. This scheme allows the Texans to play an 8 man front to stop the run and easily drop 7 to defend the pass. It will be the first time this year the Wildcats have seen this scheme, and will present a challenge early on.
One more area of concern will be the Texans kick return game. Emmanuel Moore has had a 71 yard return and Saveion James has had a 66 yard return. Wildcat coverage teams need to be on the mark this week!
